Carmen grew up in villa in Andalusia, Spain. Because her parents valued her learning another language besides Spanish they taught their daughter most of the Romanist languages and English. Carmen is fluent in Portuguese, French, Latin, Greek, and English. Because she was an only child her parents could invest greatly into her education and spent as much time as they could with her. But being two important ministry officials in the Spanish Ministry of Magic made it hard.
When Carmen wasn’t studying she’d either read books or soak up in the warm Spanish sun which made her develop a nice tan. Ever since she had been small she had loved sports. Even muggle sports held a certain fascination to her. When her cousins would come over they’d play Quidditch or go surfing at the beach.
Despite her yearn for learning new things and the love for reading books. Carmen’s feisty and strong sense of justice over ruled her more intelligent nature in her sorting. In the beginning she was appalled at being sorted into Gryffindor because of what she had heard from relatives and other students at the school it was the unintelligent house.
After spending a few months in her house and getting to know her other roommates and fellow classmates she realized that Gryffindor really wasn’t that stupid. She quickly fit in and soon joined the in crowd and was considered to be one of the “it “girls of Gryffindor. Her second year she joined the Quidditch team as chaser.
